Overview
Christlike communicators strive to create workplaces and communities that embrace belonging.
As he emphasized that we demonstrate our discipleship by how we interact with others, President Russell M. Nelson, in his April 2023 General Conference address entitled "Peacemakers Needed,"Links to an external site," stated,
"The gospel net is the largest net in the world. God has invited all to come unto Him, 'black and white, bond and free, male and female' (2 Nephi 26:33). There is room for everyone. However, there is no room for prejudice, condemnation, or contention of any kind.
My dear brothers and sisters, the best is yet to come for those who spend their lives building up others. Today I invite you to examine your discipleship within the context of the way you treat others. I bless you to make any adjustments that may be needed so that your behavior is ennobling, respectful, and representative of a true follower of Jesus Christ."
"Regardless of ethnicity or outward appearance, all Church members are united in the knowledge that they are children of a Heavenly Father. They know He loves each of His children equally. This knowledge builds a feeling of unity in every building and worship service around the world and ties all members of the Church together."
As you seek to develop unity with God's children, you will realize the importance of unity in all aspects of your life. Developing a passion for belonging will help you become a Christlike leader and communicator as you demonstrate respect for all, one of BYU Marriott's core values.
